History

In 2000, a small group of Boston business leaders established the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston (A&BC/Boston) for two reasons.  One, they understood the critical importance of professional and creative development for their own employees.  And two, they realized that such opportunities would bolster Boston’s economic health as a whole. A&BC/Boston became the 15th affiliate in the nationwide network of Arts & Business Councils. In 2005, the national office merged with Americans for the Arts, a public sector advocacy organization.

Since the creation of the A&BC/Boston, our programs have supported over 500 art groups from 60 different towns and 280 business professionals from 160 different companies.
