Privacy Policy: Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston
A&BC/Boston respects the privacy of your personal identifying information and has provided this explanation about our online information practices as a show of our commitment to protect your privacy.
Information Collected:
When you use this website, information can be collected in two ways: (1) Information that is knowingly and voluntarily input into our system directly by you in response to particular prompts or fields; and (2) information that is collected automatically. Some of this information can be "personally identifiable," meaning that it can be utilized to identify or be readily associated with you, the user of this site. A&BC/Boston only uses information for the purpose for which the information was submitted or to evaluate the effectiveness of this website.
This site does not automatically collect any personally identifiable information. All automatically collected information is anonymous and is limited to information about how many people visit different portions of this site and at what times. This allows us to improve the site's functionality. Artsandbusinesscouncil.org does not use cookies and does not place cookies on your computer equipment. (A cookie is a small text file automatically placed on your computer's web browser that is used to recognize users who have previously visited the site.) We do automatically collect your "internet protocol" (IP) address in order to capture information about traffic on the site. As a particular computer is identified, rather than identifying a particular user, no personally identifiable information is disclosed. We will not routinely attempt to match your particular IP address to any personally identifiable information that you may provide to us, unless we suspect or determine that the site is being used for any unacceptable, inappropriate, or illegal purposes.
All personally identifiable information that is collected is voluntarily provided by you, the user. It may include your name, phone number, email, or postal address, and the amount of information that you choose to disclose to us is completely up to you. You can always choose whether or not to disclose personally identifiable information, and that choice will not, in general, prevent you from using this website. However if you should choose to withhold requested information, you may not be able to participate in certain programs, services, or events. You may request and submit a hard copy of any program application or event registration by emailing suzanne@artsandbusinesscouncil.org or calling 617-570-1421.
In general, A&BC/Boston will not disclose your personally identifiable information to any third party without first providing you with an opportunity to opt out, except to comply with the law or administer the site. The only exception is to share event registration information with significant sponsors of that specific event.
Links to Third Party Websites:
A&BC/Boston may provide links to other websites. We do not control the information collection and distribution policies on Internet domains other than those on our own site. When you are on this website, you may choose to link to other sites that are beyond our control. These other sites may independently collect data, solicit personal information, or send their own cookies to you. We are not responsible for any use of the information including click-stream data, that you may create when using such third party sites. Neither shall A&BC/Boston have any liability to any entity for the content or use of the content available through hyperlinks to third party websites.
The only exception to this policy regarding third party websites is in regard to information you voluntarily provide when using A&BC/Boston online payment forms that A&BC/Boston has contracted Auctionpay to host and also when signing up to our email list through PatronMail, a service contracted through Patron Technology. The information captured on these sites and sent to A&BC/Boston will be used and protected in accordance with the privacy policy above. A&BC/Boston is not responsible for the security measures of these sites nor does the privacy policy here govern the automatic collection of information on these sites, which may include your IP address and cookies.

If you are among the recipients of our email newsletters or other reminders, you can choose at any time to opt out by notifying us of your intentions. We will make a best effort to track your preferences for receiving certain communications, but due to the varying nature of our messages, cannot guarantee that all communications preferences will be met.
