About the National Arts Marketing Project
NAMP is an initiative of the Arts & Business Council of Americans for the Arts dedicated to helping arts organizations better understand the marketplace in which they operate and recognize the benefits of an aggressive, outward-looking audience development effort.
NAMP provides training and resources to help arts organizations acquire and implement sophisticated marketing skills that will help increase earned income through audience development. NAMP is supported by a grant from American Express.
The program consists of:
-
NAMP Marketing Workshops
Workshops are held each year on key marketing topics relevant to small to mid-sized arts groups. Every workshop offers participants at least one tangible strategy that may be applied to their marketing programs immediately.
35 workshops have been presented since 2004, with a total audience of nearly 900 attendees. Sample NAMP workshops presented in Boston include:
- Diversify Your Audience
- Permission Marketing
- Collaborative Marketing
- Buzz Marketing
- Pricing Your Product
- Marketing with New Media

Workshops are conducted by marketing experts from all over the country, and sometimes feature panels made up of area arts groups and businesses. Check the calendar for details on upcoming NAMP workshops. It's open to all arts organizations!
Testimonial:
"Just wanted to let you know that the NAMP sessions were way beyond our expectations as far as their usefulness, etc. They were great! Not one dull speaker among the lot, and we learned tons of stuff...We are really excited about the project."
